The MFTA has only a few key rules, but we take them seriously. If you cannot fully commit to these rules, NFTA may not be the right fit for you.
Though issues with members are rare, NFTA membership can be suspended or terminated at the discretion of the Executive Director. If membership is terminated, you will receive a full refund of any unused booking fees, but annual dues are non-refundable. Membership termination can occur for reasons including but not limited to:
MFTA values and welcomes members of all races, nationalities, religions, genders, and sexual orientations. We are committed to creating a respectful and inclusive community. Violation of this policy will not be tolerated.
Members booking through NFTA for pod/lot locations and events must agree to these Terms & Conditions. Non-compliance may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the booking system.
MFTA does not offer discounted memberships. Our organization is highly active, and offering discounts would limit our ability to provide top-quality services to all members.
Important: New members should understand that MFTA’s primary goal is to protect and grow the mobile food industry in North Texas. While we do provide access to low-fee vending locations and event referrals, that’s not the sole purpose of the association. We need members who are committed to advocating for fair regulations, taxes, and fees at the local and state levels. We seek members who are passionate about working together with other food truck operators to elevate and improve the industry.
If your primary interest is gaining access to event bookings, this may not be the right association for you. There are companies that simply book food trucks for profit without doing anything to support or protect the industry. MFTA’s goal is to help food truck operators maximize their own success, while advocating for the industry as a whole.
We have important work ahead and challenges to overcome, and we need the support of dedicated, hard-working people. We hope you’ll join us in our mission to grow and protect the mobile food industry in North Texas.
The membership application
We can send out food truck requests for one-time parties or special events, including multi-day events, but these requests are not meant for ongoing vending opportunities (e.g., weekly food truck appearances).
If your event will host over 300 attendees and you plan to charge food trucks a vending fee, your event must follow our Large Event Guidelines.
MFTA does not guarantee that a food truck will be available or interested in vending at your event. Food trucks are independent businesses, and vendors make their own decisions. We simply send out the request on your behalf. If vendors don’t respond, it’s possible they are already booked for that date.
The $25 fee is for one submission. Each additional request is another $25, so ensure your information is accurate and detailed. The more information you provide about your event, the more interest you’re likely to generate. Be aware that vendors may have other opportunities on the same day, so make your event stand out. Minimal details will result in minimal interest.
